1. Electric Arc Spray Gun
In an Electric Arc Spray Gun process two metallic wires are electrically energized with opposing polarity to melt as the coating feedstock. Compressed air is used to the atomization of the now-molten material and propel it onto the substrate to form the coating. An electric arc spray process can spray any type of metal that has melting points under 5530°C. Coatings can provide metallic coatings with either semi-metallurgical bonds or mechanical bonds up to 5000 P-S-I is depending on the equipment and the material being used. Distortion will not take place because the substrate is not exposed to a high temperature of over 1400°C.
2. Powder Flame Spray Gun
In the Powder Flame Spray Gun process, the basic principle of the heat source is the same as wire spray except that metal is fed in the form of powder through flame and compressed air onto a surface of the substrate. In the metalizing gun process, any metal powder having a melting point below 3040°F. can be sprayed. This process is mainly utilized for abradable coatings and spray hard surfaces.
3. Wire Flame Spray Gun
In the wire flame spray gun process, metalizing wire is feed in the form of spray material into a fuel gas-oxygen flame where it is melted by the heat temperature up to 5500°F of that combustion. For the atomization of molten metal on component surface compressed air is used and fine spherical particles and propelling these particles at high velocity onto the surface of the substrate. We can control the atomization rate and the metals melting rate with different melting points when we control the feeding rate of the wire through the flame.
