If you are not assured that you are operating with a suction-blast gun or Y Gun, it is easy to determine, because it has two hoses connected to it, one transferring compressed air and one vacuum hose bringing media into the Y gun. In a pressure Blasting machine, only one larger blasting hose uses with a sandblasting nozzle to present a mixture of media and air.
This is an essential topic because suction-blast systems are so common and because under-performing blasting guns slow down the work and may appear in finish changes that are not acceptable. The good thing is that, ordinarily, you should not have to redo the arrangement process often.
Suction blasting machine y gun working starts when compressed air comes into a suction-blast gun or Y gun by its air jet, venturi effects produce a powerful effective vacuum in the media blasting hose that brings media particles up to the gun, where they get mixed with the flow of air and are thrown out through the nozzle. If the mixture of media and air is not in good proportion, you will either have too much air and not suitable media, or too much suitable media and not sufficient air.
The air/media mix passed to the Y gun by the grit blasting machine media hose is controlled by a pickup tube found at the bottom of the hopper where media is located, or infrequently the hopper at the base of the blast cabinet. The pickup tube has some holes that allow us to raise or lower the amount of air in the mixture. More holes in lead air reduce the number of media particles that come in the flow of air to the gun, and less vent air enhances the vacuum in the blasting media hose and attracts more extra media particles.

If you are working with a suction-blast gun/ Y gun that is not throwing any media at all, the difficulty is normally a clog. It will presumably be found in the body of the gun or the far end of the blasting media house, at the mouth of the pick-up tube.
After removing the compressed air supply, detach the nozzle from the blast gun, drop out the parts of the gun for examination and use a flashlight to see inside the gun body, if you find out some kind of debris obstructing the movement of media into the blast gun – burrs, flash, big paint chips or foreign objects are the most popular clog material.
